A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Turkish Standards Institution (TSE) and the Djibouti Standard and Quality Institution (DASQ). Deputy Minister of Science and Technology of the Republic of Turkey, Hasan Büyükdede, Minister of Tourism and Trade of the Republic of Djibouti, Mohamed Warsama Dirieh and TSE President Prof. Dr. Adem Şahin participated at the signing ceremony.
According to the MoU, TSE and DASQ will get benefit from each other’s experiences as well as strengthen cooperation in the field of standardization on the basis of the Turkey – Djibouti Joint Commission on Economic, Trade and Technical Cooperation Agreement. Both sides agree to exchange views on the activity, operations and working programmes of International and regional standardization and conformity assessment organization.
TSE and DASQ also agree to organize training programs and provide project management consultancy in order to develop the capacity of the DASQ experts. Two institutions will provide necessary coordination with the relevant bodies such as the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Countries (COMCEC).
