TSE Signs MoU with MSZT

A Memorandum of Understanding in the Fields of Standardization and Conformity Assessment was signed between the Turkish Standards Institution (TSE) and the Hungarian Standards Institution (MSZT) in the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

After the meeting of President Erdogan and Orban at the Presidential Complex and the Turkey-Hungary High Level Strategic Cooperation Council Session, various agreements were signed between the two countries. “Agreement on Cooperation in the Fields of Science, Industry and Technology between the Government of the Republic of Turkey and the Government of Hungary” was signed by Mustafa Varank, the Minister of Industry and Technology of Turkey and Laszlo Palkovics, the Minister of Innovation and Technology of Hungary.

The Memorandum of Understanding between the Turkish Standards Institution and the Hungarian Standards Institution in the Fields of Standardization and Conformity Assessment was signed by Mr. Mustafa Varank and Mr. Peter Szijjarto.

With the signed memorandum of understanding, TSE and MSZT will develop technical cooperation in the fields of standardization and conformity assessment (testing, inspection, certification), and benefit from each other's experiences in order to remove technical barriers to trade between the two countries. TSE and MSZT will facilitate mutual trade, strengthen bilateral cooperation in standardization, conformity assessment and other fields, and encourage scientific and technical studies.

In addition to mutual document exchange respecting copyrights; mutual consultation, opinion, technical information and document exchange regarding international and European standardization activities will be carried out between the two institutions.

TSE and MSZT also agreed on the exchange of standards and related publications in order to facilitate commercial activities between Turkey and Hungary. TSE and MSZT will exchange information about each other's management systems and new certification systems through the International Certification Network (IQNet). TSE will provide technical services to MSZT regarding the directives for which it is a Notified Body (CE Mark).

TSE and MSZT will exchange publications, books and articles in their respective fields in order to improve their capacities and assist each other, and organize conferences, workshops, symposiums and training programs to improve the capacity of experts in mutually beneficial fields.
