In the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamed Al Thani, 15 agreements were signed.
One of the signed agreements was the Memorandum of Understanding Implementation Program between TSE and QS in the Field of Standardization. The agreement was signed by Mehmet Muş, Minister of Trade, and Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, Minister of Finance of Qatar.
According to the Memorandum of Understanding Implementation Program, TSE and QS; in affirming the close bonds and joint cooperation between the two countries in the fields of standardization, conformity assessment, metrology and education; will work together to support and encourage exchange and cooperation. There will be mutual cooperation between the technical committees of the two countries. TSE and QS will support each other in international standardization organizations such as International Organization for Standardization (ISO), International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and Islamic Countries Standards and Metrology Institute (SMIIC).
In the field of conformity assessment, TSE and QS will increase cooperation opportunities regarding the halal market and halal certification. TSE and QS will collaborate and exchange information on the implementation of halal certification based on standards accepted by SMIIC. They will develop cooperation in the fields of Information Technologies, Cyber Security Training, Testing and Certification. TSE and QS will investigate possible cooperation opportunities in the Pre-Loading Inspection (PSI) field.
Additionally, according to the Memorandum of Understanding Implementation Program in the Field of Standardization, a joint metrology working group will be established for the industrial needs of Turkey and Qatar.
