Agreement is Signed Between TSE and Bahrain Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism

Türkiye - Bahrain 7th Term Joint Economic Commission Meeting was held in Manama on March 30-31, 2022 under the co-chairmanship of H.E. Nureddin Nebati, Minister of Treasury and Finance, and H.E. Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy of Bahrain.

At the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Turkish Standards Institution (TSE) and the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism of the Kingdom of Bahrain (MOICT) in order to harmonize national and regional standards with international standards and to strengthen bilateral cooperation on standardization and conformity assessment.

Within the scope of the signed agreement, TSE and MOICT will develop technical cooperation in their fields of activity; The two institutions will strengthen their bilateral cooperation in the field of conformity assessment, which covers standardization, testing, certification, inspection and surveillance activities through mutually sharing their experiences. Aiming to facilitate trade between Türkiye and Bahrain, TSE and MOICT will harmonize national and regional standards with international standards.

TSE and MOICT will support each other in international and regional organizations such as the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), Islamic Countries Standards and Metrology Institute (SMIIC), GCC Standardization Organization (GSO). In order to facilitate trade activities between Türkiye and Bahrain, the two institutions will organize activities such as training programs, joint conferences, seminars and forums in order to develop human resources in their fields of activity.
