TSE´s Presence in TRNC is Important

President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Ersin Tatar, noted that the TRNC is in various efforts to reach universal standards at its own scale, and said, "The presence and work of TSE here is extremely important for us."

Mahmut Sami Şahin, President of the Turkish Standards Institution, made his first official abroad visit to the TRNC. Within the scope of the visit, TRNC President Ersin Tatar received the TSE delegation headed by Mahmut Sami Şahin. Speaking at the reception, President of the TRNC Tatar said that TSE's competitive power in the international arena is at a proud level with the standardization studies carried out in Türkiye.

President of the TRNC Ersin Tatar stated that standards have great importance in increasing Türkiye’s export potential and that TSE carries out its activities in line with the principles. Noting that the TRNC is in various studies to reach universal standards at its own scale, Tatar said, "The presence and work of TSE here is extremely important for us." said.

With the expressing the importance of increasing efficiency with new practices, President Tatar stated that it is necessary to maintain competition in various fields on an international scale by increasing quality.

TSE President Şahin who is speaking at the visit stated that the Institution has been continuing its activities in the TRNC since 1999 through the representative office established in Lefkoşa. Şahin emphasized that TSE is ready to provide all kinds of support in the fields of standardization and conformity assessment that the TRNC needs. Şahin said that one of the 5 foreign representatives of TSE operates in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, and therefore he made his first official abroad visit to the TRNC.
